9 Unconventional Tips to Help You Wake Up Early in the Morning

Whether or not you consider yourself a morning person, the consistent ability to wake up at an early hour is a personal habit worth developing.

When you have the physical and mental discipline to get out of bed without hitting the snooze five times, you give yourself more precious time in the morning to get a head start on the day. Like actually eating a nutritious breakfast, squeezing in a morning jog, getting some writing done, or simply giving yourself an extra hour or two before the rest of the world wakes up to calmly reflect on how you plan on spending the day ahead of you.

So as one simple but effective way to really get yourself out of bed in the morning, place your alarm clock or cell phone on the other side of the room or even in another room in your living space. Add more incentive by programming your coffeemaker to start grinding coffee at the time you wake up.

If nothing jolts you into wakefulness like extreme disdain for organizations that go against what you believe in, you can always use SnuzNLuz, a Wi-Fi donation alarm clock that will send money to a charity or political cause of your choice that you absolutely hate.

Or you could train your dog to do all the hard work for you!

My dogs refuse to even fetch o.o.

Well last night I just set my phone alarm, and threw it to the other side of the room, this morning I had to go find it. Its a real pain cause I actually have to think where it went, but yeah, thats how I wake up.

P.S. My phone is a Nokia, and a cheep one at that, which means its pretty much indestructible. So yeah, I don't recommend throwing your phone

I like that. Not just putting it on the other side of the room, but putting it somewhere where it's hard to reach or not obvious!

I set my mobile alarm to my Caller Ringtone, so that I may get up cause someone is calling me. Unfortunately, I wake up. I don't snooze cause its annoying, I turn the alarm off and go back to bed :P
#Close enough :D

Interesting tip! Thanks for sharing.

The SnuzNLuz isn't an actual thing. If you try to click the "Buy Now" button on Thinkgeek, it just takes you to an April Fools page.

OH, NO. Well, I hope this gives someone the incentive to actually invent it.
